Bishop Bike Adventure Day 46 August 15, 2010

Monroeville on a Sunday is a very welcoming place. Because there was a change in schedule for the church we were to attend, we ended up catching the end of services at two other churches. After returning to the community center where we were staying, the facility had two events booked, one of which was a family reunion. We were invited to their lunch as well as to a post service luncheon at one of the churches. One of the couples at the family reunion offered to pray for us, which was a blessing that we accepted.

Once on the road, we ended up going in the wrong direction for a few miles, so had to backtrack to head toward Ohio. Once we turned around, we were pleasantly surprised that we had another nice tail wind. We rode this wave until one of the ominous clouds in this picture caught up with us. Honestly, is there something “wrong with that picture“? Why would you continue to ride when seeing this cloud in a city named Defiance? Oh well, we did not melt and the rain was not accompanied by any electricity. We are happy to report that this was the first downfall we have been caught in during this entire trip. The deluge was short lived and as you can see from this photo of Tim, we did seek shelter from the storm.

We arrived at Napoleon, a quaint little city on the banks of the Maumee River. We missed the Tomato Festival parade by the time we arrived in town, but we took some photos and enjoyed the scenery around the river on our way to our hotel. Tomorrow we are heading towards Lake Erie, Huron, and Cleveland, and the weather, once again should be hot and hopefully dry!
