Bishops Bike Adventure Day 2, July 2, 2010

Wow, do Jim and Karen Massey have the gift of hospitality! Tim and I slept until around 11am at our guests’ house- we were pooped from our plane flight and as previously mentioned, our late night preparations. We left the house around 1pm to run errands and pick up our bikes at The Bike Gallery. All went well thanks to Jim’s navigation and our to-do list in hand. We got home around 4:45 and went right to dinner in northwest Portland at a great place called Justa Pasta. After that we came home, continued to pack for the big day on Saturday. The night was filled with the frustration of putting on the “thief prevention” locking system that Tim and Jim installed on all 8 panniers. Tim’s patience and Jim’s tools and perseverance were a winning combination to get the job done! Karen and I loved to see the male bonding going on as they both continued to figure out the ins and outs of the engineering behind Ortlieb’s product. They got all the panniers equipped with the wires to help prevent anyone from walking off with all our possessions for the next 2 months. We “finalized” panniers contents and called it a night at 11pm…
