After having a lunch with Laurie,
we ventured 60 miles east to Rugby, where the next available accommodations were. The travel was a bit more difficult than expected due to an atypical wind direction, out of the south, and some construction that made a portion of the trip on a heavily traveled road burdensome. 
Nevertheless, we arrived in Rugby late in the day to heavily overcast skies. Thundershowers occurred after we arrived at the motel.As you can see from the accompanying photo,
Rugby claims to be the geographic center of North America, which suggests that we are about halfway through our trip. However, based upon mileage readings, we are not yet halfway, but we are indeed approaching it.
Is that really a load of hay pulled by a tractor? Looks like they made long rolls, not the small ones that we see here. You've sure piled up a lot of miles, are you going to make it back in time for Debbie to go to school?? That is quite a pillar of rocks. Glad you got safely to your motel before the rain came, and hope that Friday & Saturday are good biking days. Looking forward to every update. xxoo, Mom
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun with Laurie and how great of them to save you that 125 miles. Bill and I have decided we like Naples and don't want to move to Montana or ND! My question is same as Frannie's as to whether you can make it home in time? If not, what is plan B? Today is Sat. so you can be visualizing Chelsea Clinton's $2M wedding as you pedal along.
