Today was a day of much needed rest. We awoke and had our continental breakfast at the motel, then went for a walk in the area neighborhoods. This area appears to be a very affluent section of Cleveland. It seemed friendly, both child- and family-friendly. We walked until we could get some decent photos of Lake Erie. The one you see below looks east toward downtown Cleveland and beyond.
We then took the bus into downtown Cleveland where we made cursory visits of Cleveland Browns Stadium, the Great Lakes Science Center, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Science Center had a very large steamship on display in the adjacent cove and outside of the Hall of Fame sat Johnny Cash’s tour bus. We walked some of the streets of the city and then returned to the motel to rest. We’ve felt a bit groggy today, which is a sign that we are revving down to get revved back up tomorrow!
We are also planning our escape from Cleveland. There are two routes offered by the bicycle map and some of the people with whom we’ve talked have opinions on which ones to take and which ones not to take. Those opinions are not unanimous! Either route seems to have its advantages and disadvantages. With either of them, however, we will be biking right into the city along some of the same roads that we walked today, so we are glad we did some advanced scouting!
I looked for your mileage, but then read your blog. It's good that you took a day of rest. Appears the weather is staying dry, may it continue, been great here. The photos, as usual, are excellent. You will have to make a scrapbook of all your pictures with a commentary, give Tim something to do between interviews, but he will need Debbie's help! The Red Sox just won. Good night, Love, Mom
